What donation types are supported?
Your AI agent can accept:
- One-time donations — a donor sends a single donation of any amount
- Recurring donations — a donor sets up a regular contribution on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly schedule
Both types are processed through Stripe and paid out to your connected bank account.
How does a donor make a donation through WhatsApp?
- The donor messages your charity on WhatsApp
- The AI agent greets them and presents donation options
- The donor chooses one-time or recurring, and specifies an amount
- A secure Stripe payment link is sent within the chat
- The donor completes payment in their browser and receives a confirmation back on WhatsApp
The whole flow takes under a minute and requires no app or account from the donor, making the process frictionless and easy.
What is Gift Aid and how does it work?
Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that lets charities claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated by a UK taxpayer, at no cost to the donor. During the donation flow, the AI agent asks eligible donors whether they are a UK taxpayer and would like to declare Gift Aid. If they say yes, a declaration is recorded against their donation.
You can view and export all Gift Aid declarations from the Analytics section of your dashboard as a CSV, ready to submit to HMRC.
Can a donor cancel or pause a recurring donation?
Yes. Donors can message your WhatsApp number at any time to pause or cancel their recurring donation. The AI agent handles this automatically and confirms the change to the donor.
Where can I see all the donation activity?
Go to Vendor Settings → Analytics → Charity List tab in your dashboard. The donations view shows:
- A list of all individual donations with donor details, amounts, and dates
- Recurring donation schedules and their status
- Gift Aid declarations linked to each donation
- CSV export for your accounting records
